How to Get NoSongRequests Song Requests into Your DJ Software

NoSongRequests.com works with major DJ software in several ways. Serato DJ Pro and VirtualDJ have direct integrations. For rekordbox, Traktor, djay Pro, Engine DJ, and other compatible platforms, you can use the live streaming playlist workflow with Spotify, TIDAL, or Apple Music. Copy and paste is still available as a simple fallback.

Serato DJ Pro - Direct Integration

NoSongRequests integrates directly with Serato DJ Pro 4.0 or higher through the NoSongRequests desktop app for Windows and Mac.

  1. Install and open the latest NoSongRequests desktop app.
  2. Sign in with the same Pro account that receives your requests.
  3. Enable Serato Integration in the desktop app.
  4. Send a test request before opening Serato.
  5. Open Serato DJ Pro 4.0 or higher and look for the NSR Requests crate.
  6. Open the date-based subcrate for the day the request was received.

Inside Serato, you can see request details such as the requester name, tip amount, comments, energy level, and whether the requested song is already in your local library. If you use Crate Mode, NoSongRequests can identify requests as In Crate or Not In Crate.

If a new request does not appear while you are viewing the crate, click another crate and then click back to the current NSR Requests crate. Serato does not always refresh the crate currently being viewed.

VirtualDJ - Direct Integration

NoSongRequests also integrates directly with VirtualDJ using its Ask The DJ feature.

  1. Find your VirtualDJ Ask The DJ link.
  2. Log in to NoSongRequests and go to Settings.
  3. Open the Virtual DJ section and enter your Ask The DJ link.
  4. Turn the integration on and click Update.
  5. Open the Ask The DJ folder in VirtualDJ to see incoming requests.

rekordbox, Traktor, djay Pro, Engine DJ, and Other DJ Software

For compatible DJ software, the easiest live workflow is to use a streaming playlist:

  1. Connect Spotify, TIDAL, or Apple Music to NoSongRequests.
  2. NoSongRequests creates or uses a playlist named NoSongRequests.com in the connected service.
  3. As guests submit requests, requested songs are added to that playlist.
  4. Open the same supported streaming service inside your DJ software.
  5. Open the NoSongRequests.com playlist to see the requested tracks in your normal DJ workflow.

This workflow is commonly used with rekordbox, Traktor, djay Pro, Engine DJ, and other DJ platforms that support compatible streaming services.

Copy and Paste - Simple Fallback

If you are using software or a music source that is not part of one of the workflows above, you can still copy the song and artist from NoSongRequests and paste it into your DJ software's search box. It is a useful fallback, but Serato and VirtualDJ users should use the direct integrations when possible.

After the Event

If you want to save or move a larger group of requests after the event, use the NoSongRequests export and playlist tools. NoSongRequests also works with TuneMyMusic for transferring playlists to supported music services.
